We are all different!

We are all different

This week for our group time (Friday assembly) we focused on the topic "We are all different"!
We looked at the question "How are we the same and how are we different?".

Similarities shared by students:
- We all have hair
- We all go to school
- We have families
- We wear clothes
- We eat food
- We all like things

Differences shared by students:
- We all like different things
- We all have different disabilities
- We are all unique
- We have different skin colour
- We eat different foods
- We look different
- We all have different ideas
- We act in different ways

We watched the Ted Talk Video "We are all different and that's awesome".

What is it that makes you different? What makes you jump out of bed? Cole Blakeway, a messy ten year old, teaches us the value of celebrating differences as he describes his beautiful friendship with Steven, a 44 year old man with Autism. Cole Blakeway reminds us that we are all different and that's AWESOME!

At the end of the assembly we announced this weeks Citizens of the week awards. It was a great fit for how we are all different but yet we all help others to make our school a better place to be!!

Thanks,
